Stacey Kanarek appointed principal at Grassland School

Aspen View Public Schools is pleased to announce that Stacey Kanarek has been appointed principal at Grassland School for the 2019-20 School year.

A graduate of Edwin Parr Composite School in Athabasca, Stacey holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining Aspen View for the 2018-19 school year as a junior/senior high humanities teacher at Grassland School, Stacey taught with Fort McMurray Public School District beginning in 2008.

“Stacey is a remarkable educator and one of the most passionate individuals I have ever met,” current Grassland School principal Dianne Jewell commented. “She brings optimism, compassion and skill into her lessons and educational leadership practice. Stacey believes in the potential of every student and of every person with whom she comes into contact.”

The principal position at Grassland School became available with the resignation of Dianne Jewell, who has accepted a position with Parkland School Division as principal at Duffield School. Aspen View Public Schools thanks Dianne for her excellent work and wish her every success in her new role.
