Job opportunity: Full Time Junior High Math Teacher - Edwin Parr Composite School
Aspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities. The division is unique in that it is surrounded by a multitude of lakes, golf courses and trails that appeal to an active, outdoor lifestyle while still being in close proximity to larger urban centers.
Many schools within Aspen View are geographically located to allow beginning teachers to meet the requirements of the Northern Student Teacher Bursary and/or Northern Alberta Development Council bursaries
Edwin Parr Composite School (EPC), located in the Town of Athabasca, serves approximately 660 students from Grades 7-12. This new school building, opened in September 2018, is noted as one of the most progressive new schools built in the province. Athabasca lies two hours north of Edmonton with a population of 3,000 within the town; and an additional 4,000 in the surrounding county.
EPC is seeking a full time junior high math teacher. The successful candidate will work within a cohort model with three other teachers. The teaching assignment will include Grade 7, 8, 9 math, along with a junior high option.
